National Monument of Scotland

First stop, the beautiful hilly city of Edinburgh. The neoclassical, medieval and Georgian architecture were simply stunning.

After approximately 14hrs on Qantas QF1 flight, we arrived in Heathrow Terminal 3 at 6:15am local time. We headed straight to Terminal 5 to catch our connecting British Airways BA1442 flight, to Edinburgh at 9:05am. There were slight delay and we arrived at 11:00am. We took Edinburgh Trams from the Airport to the nearest stop to the hotel. It passes by the city centre and the ride took us 30mins to York Place station. Edinburgh Tramway staffs were friendly, it is very convenient and affordable. The tickets for the two of us were only £12 as compared to £50 cab ride.

As we arrived, the weather was cold at 2 - 7 degrees celsius. We checked in at Cairn Apartments, 10-18 Windsor Street, Edinburgh. It was great as the hotel provided us with great hospitality. Basic needs such as ironing board, room heater and in the toilet as well. They also provided complimentary snacks and water in a basket.

Major places we've visited inlucdes, Old Town Edinburgh, Haymarket, Victoria Street, Calton Hill and Edinburgh Castle. If you're a big fan of Harry Potter, be sure to visit Museum Context at 40, Victoria Street.

We also did a day trip to the highlands and visited Glencoe, Great Glen, Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. The tour was conducted by Rabbie's with a price range from £43 - £62. Our tour guide Bruce, was funny and shared history of the places visited.

Due to the shorter daylight in Oct-Nov, it was already dark at around 5:30pm. We have to make used of the daylight as much as possible.
